Celebrating our work with JANDA Productions

Updated: Jul 15, 2021

We’ve been working alongside our mates at JANDA Productions to provide a social media campaign for a couple of super cool events: Breaks n’ Brass, a spectacular throwback to ‘90s Hip-Hop and R'n'B, and TUAWAHINE, a one-of-a-kind celebration of our powerful wāhine.

The first event - coming on the 2nd of July - is TUAWAHINE, the perfect opportunity to celebrate Matariki. The musical showcase is part of Auckland Live’s Cabaret Season, and will feature performances from a number of incredible female artists like Anika Moa, Georgia Lines, Annie Crummer, Paige, and Tami Neilson.

We’ve been loving the opportunity to create some killer social media content to promote the event in the run up towards Matariki, and we’re pumped to celebrate the new year on July 2nd with performances from some of New Zealand’s best artists.

Each of the extraordinarily talented women who will be performing at TUAWAHINE are being highlighted on the @tuawhaine_ Instagram, with even more artists to be announced closer to the event itself.

Then - coming up on August 7th - is Breaks n’ Brass, a perfect storm of talented Kiwis for any fan of Hip-Hop or R’n’B. Featuring artists like Ché-Fu, Ria Hall, Tali, King Kapisi, Rubi Du, DJ Manchoo, and hosted by MC Slave of Fat Freddy’s Drop, there’s no shortage of iconic artists ready to take the stage.

Breaks n’ Brass gives this group of exceptional artists an opportunity to pay tribute to their favourite tracks of the ‘90s, performing covers alongside a 16-piece brass band and a 5-piece rhythm section. It’s gonna be big, loud, and extremely nostalgic.

Pop That has been hard at work on the promotional material for the event, and we’re chomping at the bit to hear our favourite tracks reinvented and remixed live on stage.

Whether you’re looking for a powerful way to recognize Matariki, or a boisterous throwback to some ‘90s jams, JANDA’s got plenty on to be excited for.
