What’s Poppin’ — March

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

It’s a special day for Pop That, with Friday the 25th marking International Waffle Day!

Here at Pop That, we pride ourselves on our ability to waffle endlessly, and in the spirit of the season, here we go.

Some fresh new faces…

Our team’s grown a bit, with new additions to the marketing and design crew!

We’re stoked to introduce you to:

Rosh, our new Graphic Designer

Rosh is already slaying with super sharp designs across a bunch of client work. With Claudia on leave for three weeks, Rosh is providing relief - and both will continue to work together to deliver awesome designs for all of our partners!

She’s the real deal, with a depth of experience in brand identity, packaging, and much more. We’re excited to see what she’s got in store.

Petra, our new Project Lead

With Anita’s departure from Pop That last month, we’ve been in desperate need of someone to keep us on track… Petra is that person!

Petra’s an absolute superstar when it comes to communicating, managing, and leading. Just who we need to crack the whip and keep Philip from waffling!

Kylie, our new Publicist

For over a decade, Kylie has worked as a publicity and communications professional, specialising in the creative and social sectors. She’s exactly who you want to help with a media release and we’re stoked to have her talents here.

Kylie has vast experience working with national and local media, securing TV, radio, print and online features across all major and targeted media.

Ruby, our new Marketing Specialist

The marketing crew is growing! Ruby is a pro when it comes to getting stuff done. Having worked with Portia, our Traffic Manager, for the last two years - Ruby is sure to be a seamless addition to the team and we’re stoked to have her on board.

Fun fact,

Ruby is based in Mt Maunganui and Kylie in Thames. Claudia is moving to London, Portia to Bali and Luke is visiting New York for a month. Not only has the travel bug bitten it also has our team spreading out to different time zones!

What else is new?

We’ve been busy, with heaps of great projects on the move.

We recently produced a video for Play It Strange, promoting the Youthtown Songwriting Competition. This awesome opportunity gives student musicians a chance to record their music in a professional studio, and showcase the result on Spotify and Apple Music.

We teamed up with Sophie Brown and Katie-Lee Webster, two close friends of the Play It Strange team, to capture the joy and creativity of this competition!

You can read more about this project on our blog!

The Whale Tales Art Trail is in full swing, and as you know, Pop That is immensely proud to be one of the sponsors, with our very own sculpture at Te Atatū Peninsula.

People who find our tail can also go in the draw for a bunch of awesome prizes! We’ve been doing giveaways every week on our Instagram, so make sure to ‘collect our tail’ from the Whale Tales app and follow so you don’t miss any!

Be sure to check out our blog for a rundown of the awesome launch, and our special project: the Whale Tales Virtual Trail.

Plus, new testimonial videos are incoming!

Our video team has been working on a series showcasing Pop That’s journey with some of our dear clients.

These testimonials are a great way to learn about how we work together, as well as the results of some truly awesome projects!

Check out the second of these videos, all about our work with The Being Way, below:

Well, that was a delicious waffle slice. We’re looking forward to many more exciting projects to come, including a bunch we’ve not had time to mention today.

Ngā mihi, and Happy International Waffle Day!
